Trichoscopy is a non-invasive, digital diagnostic method used for analyzing the condition of hair and scalp. This examination allows the dermatologist, using a special device – the trichoscope – under high magnification, to obtain a precise picture of the causes of hair loss, scalp changes, and other disorders in hair growth and quality.
At Atrijum Sarajevo Polyclinic, trichoscopy is performed by Dr. Majda Jukić, specialist in dermato-venereology.
Trichoscopy is recommended for everyone experiencing:
🔹 Increased hair loss (diffuse or localized)
🔹 Visible hair thinning or bald patches
🔹 Dandruff, redness, itching, or scalp irritation
🔹 Changes on the scalp (plaques, crusts, scales)
🔹 Changes in hair quality – thin, brittle, dry hair
🔹 Suspected autoimmune or hormonal disorders related to hair
Early diagnosis of hair problems is crucial for successful treatment. Many forms of alopecia and conditions causing hair loss are reversible if identified and treated in time.
Trichoscopy is performed using a handheld digital microscope placed directly on the scalp. The image is displayed on a screen, and the dermatologist magnifies areas of interest to analyze:
The examination is completely painless, takes about 15–20 minutes, and requires no preparation.
✅ Quick and painless diagnosis
✅ No need for tissue sampling or biopsy
✅ High level of precision
✅ Ability to monitor treatment results over time
✅ Creation of an individualized treatment plan based on objective findings
